Here's what the exciting summer movie series has to offer this year. Be see more details at www.peacheschrist.com.
Opening weekend will pay tribute to 1970s star and Oscar nominee Linda Blair who will be on hand camping things up with hostess Peaches Christ and discussing her film career. On Friday, July 10 the movie "Roller Boogie" will play with mind-altering disco music and fog machines. As soon as you've recovered from all the fun on Friday, Linda will be on hand once again on Saturday, July 11 to screen the horror classic "The Exorcist." Maybe in the darkness, we will all hear Linda scream some of her famous lines.
On Saturday, July 18 the camp cult classic "Heathers" will be screened, returning us all to high school and dealing with the popular crowd, all named Heather. The preshow pseudo-high school reunion will certainly make yours seem tame.
The following Saturday, July 25, will bring a Zombie Drag Queen Roller Derby to life before the screening of "Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn." This will likely be as fierce as last year's "Xanadu" roller derby that release forms will need to be signed.
The centerpiece of all midnight movie series will be back the following weekend as Peaches Christ will screen both Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1, the classic cult film "Showgirls." Come see why this classic has played at every midnight movie series for the passed 12 years.
John Water's classic "Pink Flamingos," will follow on Saturday, August 8 to once again prove why Waters is the king of cult films and why this classically bad film needs no additional fanfare as its fans know all about it and will seek it out wherever it plays.
The series seems to get a little tamer the following Saturday, August 21 with the screening of the classic "Poltergeist" and a re-enactment of the film by Peaches and her sidekicks that will bring true horror to the evening's event.
The series ends on a very high note with live and in person, Elvira Mistress of the Dark on hand both Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22 to screen her film by the same name. And if seeing and talking to Elvira isn't enough, she and Peaches Christ will preview the future cult comedic classic "All About Evil," a film written by and starring Peaches Christ alter-ego Joshua Grannell.
